A Stellar Line-up of Authors at the 2010 North Shore Writers Festival
Back for its eleventh spectacular year, 2010’s North Shore Writers Festival will bring some of Canada’s brightest literary stars to our local libraries. The Festival runs April 19th – 22nd at the North Vancouver District Public Library, North Vancouver City Library, and the West Vancouver Memorial Library. It’s where writers and readers meet!
This year’s Festival features award-winning author Annabel Lyon. With two highly praised short story collections under her belt, Lyon published her first novel, The Golden Mean in 2009. The novel met a keen reception in the literary world, was shortlisted for several prominent awards and took home the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize for 2009. Don’t miss the opportunity to spend an evening with this widely-praised writer on Monday, April 19th, 7:30pm at the West Vancouver Memorial Library.
On Tuesday April 20th, come and join us for an evening of intrigue and suspense. Joy Fielding has penned over a dozen novels, including Still Life, Mad River Road, and See Jane Run. Regarded the world over for her ability to create tension and suspense on the pages of her books, Fielding delivers once again with her latest novel, The Wild Zone - a tale of dark secrets and hidden passions. Meet her at 7:30pm at the North Vancouver District Public Library, Lynn Valley Main Library.
On Thursday April 22nd, hear acclaimed author Anosh Irani talk about his work and newest novel Dahanu Road. Irani was born and brought up in India and moved to Vancouver in 1998. He is the author of the acclaimed novels the Cripple and his Talismans and the Song of Kahunsha, which was a finalist for CBC Radio’s Canada Reads and the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize. His most recent novel, Dahanu Road, hits shelves this spring. Join us for this presentation at 7:45pm at the North Vancouver City Library.
