What Works and What Doesn’t: How and Where to Look for Career Opportunities
We will look at where jobs are posted, the effectiveness of internet sites, how employers screen the 500+ applications they receive, how to use on-site and on-line career fairs effectively, and how to read a job description to determine if you should apply. Participants will discuss sample job postings, develop a short verbal self-introduction to use when meeting potential employers and will be provided with a list of library and other resources.
Presented by Paulette Johnston, a program manager in co-operative education at SFU and continuing studies instructor at UBC, who has facilitated numerous workshops on career related topics.
