Igraine the Brave

This story takes place in a castle called Pimpernel in a time when there were magicians, magic places, knights in shining armour and castles with roaring lions, gargoyles that spit fire, and moats that turn men into fish.

Igraine is a young girl who wants to be a knight. Her brother Albert, and her mother The Fair Melisande and father Lamorak the Noble and her magic cat Sysiphus that can actually talk, and the Talking Books of Magic all live at Pimpernal. The hero of them all is Igraine. That's why it's called Igraine the Brave - and for her 12th birthday she gets a suit of armour.

Another hero is the Sorrowful Knight of the Mount of Tears. Together Igraine, the Sorrowful Knight and her family all battle Osmund the Greedy and Rowan Heartless, the Spiky Knight, castellan to Osmund. Pimpernel Castle is being attacked.

I recommend this book for kids and parents also enjoy it. Any kid who likes fairytales would like it.
