Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith
Jane Austen is either spinning in her grave or howling with laughter. I'm betting on the latter. Zombies plus martial arts plus a nineteenth-century romance? It's a mash-up made in heaven that even Austen might approve. P+P+Z is clever, funny, crude, gory, and just as gossipy as the 1813 original. It's sometimes a slow read, but the subversive moments are worth waiting for, and if your attention starts to wander, you can think about who you'd cast in the movie (somehow, I can't picture Colin Firth as a nunchuck-throwing Mr. Darcy). Recommended for every romantic who likes parodies, appreciates black humour, and has a strong stomach.
